Sell FAQs
Below
are the answers to most of the common questions we get asked. If you have
a question that isn't listed, please do not hesitate to contact one of
our advisors on (0845) 2575669 who will be happy to help.
Will carsonline actually
be buying my car?
No, we are a professional car sales agency. Rather like an estate agent
who will deal with the sale and purchase of your house, we do the same
but for cars. You remain the legal owner of the vehicle until it is transferred
to its new owner.
Do I have to leave my car with you?
No, although it does make things a lot easier, it is not necessary to
leave your car in our custody. We can arrange any potential viewings around
you.
Can you collect my car?
Yes. We offer a collection service throughout mainland UK. This does however
attract an additional charge depending on your location in the UK. Please
call us on 0845 2575669 for more information. (restrictions apply).
How do you sell my car?
We offer two different ways of marketing your car. A free classified advertisement
or a full agency sale.
- Classified listing: A classified advert is a basic listing of your
vehicle on eBay only that includes simple information such as specification
and up to 12 images. Classified adverts run for 28 days which means
they don't appear towards the top of eBay's usual listing order of "Time:
Ending soonest" this is where a full agency sale auction listing
can have much better results.
- Full agency sale: Our full agency package includes a full valet of
your vehicle prior to listing, up to 40 photographs and video footage,
a car data check, a sophisticated auction listing with preparation viewer,
editorial and full in-depth information about your particular vehicle.
You will also receive a free classified advertisement if your vehicle
is not successfully sold. Our full agency package greatly improves the
chances of a successful and quick sale.
How do your auction listings work?
We prepare your vehicle and create a sophisticated auction listing for
eBay Motors.
We advise on a sensible reserve price / sales price and the vehicle is
sold at the end of the auction to the highest bidder (provided the reserve
price has been met.) If your car does not sell at auction we can relist
it for £29 + VAT until it does and advise you on the best way to
make it a more attractive buy. Alternatively we can relist free of charge
via one of our classified listings.
Do you accept offers on
your eBay classified and autotrader listings?
Yes, rather like an estate agent we will lias between you "our client"
and the potential buyer to negotiate a deal.
What happens if my car
doesn't sell?
Often cars don't sell because they have a patchy service history, require
bodywork repairs or are over priced. We will advise on any alterations
to pricing or maybe cosmetic repair to try and achieve a successful sale.
How do I receive payment?
Title of the vehicle remains with yourself until we have received cleared
funds from the successful buyer. You will then as per our agency agreement
receive full payment directly from ourselves not the buyer, giving you
full peace of mind.
